2nd Annual State level Conference of the Association of Radiation Oncologists of Karnataka “AROKSCON 2026” was hosted by Department of Radiation Oncology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, and KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), Belagaviinassociation with Association of Radiation Oncologist of Karanatakaon May 16th and 17th, 2026 at Belagavi.Conference was based on theme “Radiation Therapy in the Real World: From Evidence to Everyday Practice”.

The conference was attended by approximately 200 registered delegates, ensuring a rich mix of experienced practitioners and postgraduate radiation oncology students.The event featured interdisciplinary participation, with medical oncologists and surgical oncologists sharing their clinical experience along side radiation oncologists.

The formal inauguration was graced by an esteemed panel of institutional and organizational leaders, includingProf. Dr.Sandeep Shrivastava Vice Chancellor of KAHER as Chief GUEST, Prof. DR. V.M Pattanshetti Registrar of KAHER as Guest of Honour, Dr. Sidhanna R Palled President of AROK, Dr. Sunil R.A Secretary AROK, Dr. Imtiaz Ahamed Organizing Chairman and Dr. Sapna Organizing Secretary. During the inauguration function, the journey of AROI over the years to reach 50 years, making this year as its Golden jubilee year was reminisced. Contribution Karnataka to strengthen AROI though its journey of 50 Years was counted.

The academic program spanned 1.5 days and was broken down into pre-conference workshop and 7distinct sessions. Pre-Conference Workshop focused on the practical integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into radiation oncology workflows. Conference included Prof. Dr. Gurunath Kilara Oration whichwas Delivered by Dr. Nalini Rao, seniorconsultant radiation oncologists in Karnataka, on the topic "Radiation: Past, Present, and Future"*. One Keynote by Dr. Hasib presented on the "Evolution of Brachytherapy Practices" and second by Dr. Lokesh V on topic "Principles of Plan Evaluation in SRS, SRT, and SBRT".Conference sessions were structured around specific oncology domains, including Head and Neck, Breast, GynecOncology, Gastrointestinal, Treatment of Oligometastatic Lesions, haematological and Paediatric Malignancies.

Nearly 40 Postgraduate students and fellows from across Karnataka showcased their clinical research work in form of oral and poster presentations.A highly engaging, two-round quiz was conducted for Postgraduate students, with preliminary round on May 16th and final round on May 17th AROKSCON 2026 successfully provided a robust platform for knowledge exchange, bridging the gap between clinical evidence and everyday real-world practice for radiation oncologists across the state.The program concluded with a valedictory functionand distribution of cash prize and certificates to the winners of oral and poster presentations for bothPG and Post PG category, Quiz Winners and runners.
